Donald Voorhees (1903, Allentown, Pennsylvania–1989, New Jersey) was an American composer and conductor. From 1935 to 1941, and from 1949 to 1953 Voorhees was the musical director and conductor for the radio and television show, Cavalcade of America. Voorhees also served as conductor of the Bell Telephone Hour orchestra for 26 years, from its first broadcasts on radio in 1942 until its final television episode in 1968. He was also the first conductor of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra. „I’m Through With Love” was a hit song of 1931, made immortal by Marilyn Monroe’s interpretation in Billy Wilder’s comedy „Some Like It Hot” (1959). San Diego County Fair 2010 Pigeon Show HD

TheSan Diego Metro Pigeon Club proudly sponsored the San Diego County Fair 2010 Pigeon Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The show was a grand success with over 350 entries by 29 exhibitors. A red Jacobin pigeon owned by Frank Barrachina took top honors as the Grand Champion, followed by an Cream Bar English Pouter owned by Dennis Soares, third place was awarded to a Yellow Mottle Birmingham Roller owned by Tom Henchy but shown by Dee Schumacher. Congratulation to all the winners and thank you to all the participants and the beautiful San Diego County Fair assistants who helped keep the records straight and cleaned up after us at the event. A special thanks goes to San Diego Metro Pigeon Club Member, Clint Messerschmidt, who’s dedication made the show a rousing success. The San Diego Metro Pigeon Club will be hosting the 2011 NPA Grand National at the San Diego Town and Country Hotel & Convention Center. The pigeon show will be held on January 6th thru the 8th, 2011. You want to attend this show as there will be over 5000 birds exhibited from all over the US. Also, world renowned breeders from all over the world will be in attendance. Come join in the fun and education of the pigeon breeds and our hobby.
